New Whitepaper in Chinese

June 27th, 2017

iC-PR

The whitepaper entitled "Encoder Blue goes reflective" is now available in chinese.

Traditional optical encoders rely on transmissive optics, which is a mature and well-known technology for encoders. However, it also has its own inherent drawbacks, limiting its application in certain scenarios. In order to better suit different applications and their specific requirements, new encoder technologies are constantly being developed and implemented.

An alternative technology for encoders is based on reflective optics, which tries to improve on the features where transmissive encoders tend to fall short. The reflective optical encoder with blue light is one example of such a new technology, and is being released by iC-Haus as the iC-PR and iC-PX Series integrated circuits.

This article details the features and advantages of this new approach.

iC-TW28: 10-Bit Sin/Cos Interpolator with Auto-Calibration

iC-TW28 is the newest addition to the iC-Haus portfolio of interpolators for encoder applications. Its high integration provides a feature-rich solution, fully configurable and therefore suitable for a wide variety of applications. Up to 10-bit angle resolution is achieved, as well as these main features:

The small 5x5 mm QFN package integrates all features: signal conditioning, interpolation circuit, LED intensity control, RS422 output line drivers and EEPROM. The chip is operated with a single 3.3 V supply, within -40°C and +125°C. The iC-TW28 is suitable for rotary and linear encoders, and can be connected to different types of sine/cosine sensors (optical, magnetic with MR bridges, etc).
